EFF Leader Julius Malema says the party calls for the 2021 Local Government Elections to be postponed.

Malema had been speaking at a media briefing in Johannesburg on latest party matters, including its state of readiness for the elections.

The announcement of elections happen in the midst of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement that all gatherings should be limited to a maximum of 100 people indoors and 250 people outdoors, including political party activities.

Malema says the elections will not be free and fair when one of its critical components, called campaigning is suspended.

On vaccine rollout, the CIC says government is pretending to be doing something but in actual fact, it is doing nothing.

He says people are leaving South Africa to be vaccinated in Zimbabwe because of the country’s efficiency in vaccine rollout.

Zimbabwe is currently leading in the SADC region as it has inoculated 2.6% of its 14.5 million citizens compared to South Africa’s 0,8%.

Malema says this is because the neighboring country uses all different types of vaccines  including Chinese Sinovac and Russia’s Sputnik V.
