The EFF says it stands by Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe, who is currently facing impeachment, because it believes that he is a victim of white monopoly capital.
In August the Judicial Service Commission voted that the judge president should be removed from office due to gross misconduct.
This comes after the Judicial Conduct Tribunal in April found Hlophe guilty of trying to influence the outcomes of former president Jacob Zuma’s corruption charges in 2008.
EFF MP Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi has made mention of this in the virtual national assembly programme Committee meeting.
Mkhaliphi argues that whether the process of impeachment happens now or later, the EFF will not support it.
