The Economic Freedom Fighters are calling for a commission of inquiry into allegations that president, Cyril Ramaphosa, collaborated with the apartheid Security Branch.

During a joint sitting of Parliament that was debating the State of the Nation Address, Cope leader, Mosiuoa Lekota, accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of collaborating with the apartheid Special Branch and sold out his comrades between 1972 to 1974.

The EFF says they are taking these allegations seriously and as a result they have written to Ramaphosa to allow the chief justice to appoint a judicial commission of inquiry to investigate these allegations.

They say the country cannot be led by a person who collaborated with the Special Branch to condemn freedom fighters into imprisonment, and possible loss of life.
