Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa will be meeting Mozambique’s Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Carlos Zacarias at the Union Buildings this morning.
This comes as Ramokgopa announced in April that he was in talks with the country to access a thousand megawatts of power to alleviate South Africa’s energy crisis.
Mozambique is a resource-rich country their energy is sitting at about 180 gigger watts.
But for now, Eskom announced that due to a continued improvement in generating capacity, load-shedding will only be implemented during the evenings for the next few days.
Eskom’s interim spokesperson, Daphne Mokwena, says the suspension of load-shedding is due to three units previously on outage being returned to service.
