Energy expert, Ted Blom, says he is not very optimistic about Eskom.
Public Enterprises Minister, Pravin Gordhan, has unveiled government’s long-awaited plan to save the power supplier, including exposing it to greater competition, lowering fuel costs and increasing renewable-energy output.
The power utility supplies about 95 per cent of the country’s power and its current debt stands at R450 billion.
Blom says the country will have a very tough time for the next five years while Eskom looks to fix things.
