Environmental activists object to the government’s nuclear plan

The National Nuclear Corporation of South Africa has welcomed government’s nuclear plan.
The chairperson, David Nicholl, says the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy’s request for information regarding a two-thousand-500-megawatt nuclear programme, will help the government to determine its cost.
The spokesperson for a Western Cape non-profit organisation, the Southern African Religious Communities Environment Institute, Francesca de Gasparis, accuses government of acting secretively.
