The South Durban Community Environmental Alliance is calling for urgent government intervention to stop people from accessing the Isipingo lagoon in Durban.
This comes after hundreds of dead fish were washed up on the shores of the lagoon due to contaminated water.
The Alliance’s Desmond D’sa has blamed damaged sewerage pumps which he says have to be fixed by the eThekwini Municipality.
