Eskom Battling Coal Theft

General Manager for Eskom Group Security, Karen Pillay says they are currently engaged in a number of critical projects in Eskom that involves acts of criminality internally as well as externally.

Last week whilst speaking to parliament the head of the Special Investigating Unit, Andy Mothibi explained partially how so many people were making so much money illegally through Eskom.

He explained how coal is stolen, how good quality coal is exchanged for poor quality coal, and how people inside Eskom are making an incredible amount of money through this.

Pillay explains how well-organised this crime is.
