Eskom restoring power to communities affected by storm in KZN
Written by Lethiwe Mdluli on 13 November, 2019
Eskom says its technicians are busy trying to restore power to the 15 thousand customers affected by the storm that hit New Hanover in the Midlands yesterday.
Only 3 906 customers, in Mpolweni, still remain without electricity.
The power utility says these customers are fed through structures and lines that are down, so restoration will take longer than usual as it will need to ensure that the lines are safe to energize before bringing them back on.
Eskom has also urged people to stay away from low hanging conductors and fallen structures.
Meanwhile MEC for COGTA, Sipho Hlomuka, has also urged residents to be cautious of the bad weather.
