Eskom to Implement Stage 2 Loadshedding from 22h00 Tonight

Written by on 6 January, 2021

Eskom has announced that it will implement stage two loadshedding from 10 o’clock at night until five in the morning for two nights.

This was necessitated by the planned shutdown of Koeberg Unit one and other units whose return to service has been delayed.

Eskom Spokesperson, Sikonathi Matshantsha, says loadshedding is necessary in order to recover and preserve the emergency generation reserves that have been utilised to support the system during the week.

Matshantsha says Eskom will communicate timeously should there be any significant changes to the power system.
