Energy Analyst, Ted Blom, says it is very suspicious that Eskom has not been able to quantify the cost of its services to local division of US Technology firm, Oracle Corporation.
This follows days of contractual dispute between the power utility and the firm.
Eskom says it has since taken steps to protect its operations from disruptions following the dispute, which it says, has put its technical support services at risk.
Oracle initially claimed Eskom underpaid it by about R7.3 billion and has rejected the utility’s settlement offer of R166 million.
Blom says this debacle seems like a typical Eskom electricity account – all over the show.
