Eskom has applauded the arrest of two former employees of the ABB Group and their spouses for a 2.2-billion-rand corruption contract linked to Eskom in 2015.
The power utilities spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says Mohammed Mooidheen and Vernon Pillay stand accused of cashing in on irregular gratifications estimated at 8.6-million-rand.
He says this included cash and luxury vehicles and irregularly appointing Impulse International as a sub-contractor on a 549.6-million-rand deal.
Their spouses are also alleged to have benefited from the crime.
