Expert Analysis on Zuma’s Rescission

Constitutional Expert Mpumelelo Zikalala says Acting Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo, will have to recuse himself today, during former president Jacob Zuma’s Con Court rescission hearing.

Zuma filed a rescission to have his case re-looked into, following a Con Court judgement of contempt of court, sentencing him to 15 months in prison.

He started his sentence on Wednesday midnight at the Estcourt Correctional Center, Midlands of KZN.

Meanwhile, the State Capture Commission of Inquiry, also chaired by Zondo, has since filled an application to the apex court, to have Zuma’s rescission application dismissed.

Zikalala says Zondo would not listen to this case because he is a respondent and has also not previously dealt with this matter.
