The community of ward 32 in Pietermaritzburg, Glenwood location who are rallying behind the family of Delana Cader Rawlins who was shot by her estranged husband last month say they are frustrated by the justice system.
The frustration comes after the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate Court yet again postponed the case to tomorrow due to the dispute between the State and the lawyer of Ian Rawlins who is the accused in this murder case.
Previously the State opposed Ians’ bail application laying reasons that the murder was premeditated as the accused followed his wife’s car and shot her multiple times however Ian’s lawyer is arguing that the murder could have been planned as described by the state.
The court has then rescheduled the case for tomorrow so that it can be determined which of the two arguments the court is agreeing with.
Glenwood Civic Association Deputy Chairperson Elton Adkins, says the family and the community is not happy about the back-and-forth that is currently taking place in court.
