Football organization, FIFA has ordered Russia to play matches without its flag and anthem at neutral venues, warning the country could be excluded from competitions including the World Cup if the situation in Ukraine does not improve.
The body has announced that no games will be played in Russia as an act of solidarity with Ukraine.
In support of Ukraine, other countries such as England, Wales, Poland, and Sweden have refused to play Russia.
International soccer teams are set to begin their World Cup 2022 play-offs next month, which will also see Russia face Poland before facing either the Czech Republic or Sweden if they win.
