Former EThekwini Deputy Mayor Dies

Former eThekwini Deputy Mayor, Nomvuzo Shabalala, has passed away following a short illness.

Shabalala was hospitalised last week and died in the early hours of this morning.

Before moving into the National Assembly, Shabalala served as Deputy Mayor of eThekwini Municipality until 2016 and passes away serving as the Central Committee member of the SACP.

Speaking to Gagasi FM News, Provincial SACP Chairperson James Nxumalo has decribed Shabalala as a firm and honest leader.

Meanwhile, KwaZulu-Natal ANC has expressed it’s shock over the death of five of it’s leaders in one week.

These include Veteran Queeneth Magwaza, Provincial Administrator Tops Ngubane, Umlalazi Municipality Mayor Jeke Zulu, KZN ANC Veterans Chairperson Petros Dlomo and eThekwini Municipality former Deputy Mayor Nomvuzo Shabalala.
