GAGASI FM CELEBRATES ITS 17TH BIRTHDAY

Monday, 13 March 2023 – Today, we celebrated our 17th birthday, since its inception in 2006. We have become a household name, providing our listeners with the latest news, entertainment, and music.
We are known for our diverse range in music genres, from hip-hop to house, kwaito to gospel, and everything in between. Reaching the 17th milestone shows an astonishing amount of growth and progress within the radio landscape.
The celebration today brought our colleagues together, highlighting the continued hard work and dedication that has brought the station thus far. A 17th birthday celebration which was tabled by our HOD of Commercial Hub, Pinky Myeni, Head of Audience Experience, Alex Mthiyane and Head of Music & Technical, Mimi Kesaris.
Today we also paid tribute to our former colleague, Nkosinathi Dlamini fashionably known as Bhuti Nathi, for his contributions and good deeds, which he has previously done for the station.
Head of Audience, Alexi Mthiyane said,
“In the past two years, we had one of our loyal stuff members, from whom we’ve learnt to be resilient. Whom we understood what it means when one must be versatile.”
Bhut’ Nathi will always be missed, especially because he was a man of his work and word, which was fitting for the station to celebrate his life with the birthday mix.
Our celebration was a reminder of the impact that we have had on South African culture and the music industry. From humble beginnings to a nationwide sensation, we have cemented ourselves as one of the most beloved radio station in the country, and the future looks brighter than ever.
