Independent Media says investigations have revealed that Gauteng Health MEC Nomathemba Mokgethi and other officials at the national health department were involved in the Tembisa 10 saga.

The Media company’s chairperson Iqbal Surve has released a report confirming that the Tembisa 10’s mother was indeed pregnant with 10 babies and gave birth by cesarean section.

He has also revealed that 8 of the 10 babies survived but were taken way from their mother.

Surve says there’s been a huge cover-up regarding this story, and has called for criminal investigations to be instituted, adding that government needs to take responsibility.

He has been briefing media on the findings of investigations that have been conducted and says government must provide answers about the whereabouts of the babies.

Obstetrician and Gynecologist Dr Mpho Pooe has also confirmed that Gosiame Sithole was indeed pregnant and gave delivered by c-section.

Meanwhile, the Gauteng government has confirmed that it will be taking legal action against the Independent Media Group.

They argue that Sithole was admitted at Tembisa Hospital on 18 June 2021 and following various medical tests, the doctors established that she did not give birth to any babies nor was she pregnant in recent times.
