George Bizos hailed as a towering giant

Condolences continue pouring in following the passing of renowned human rights lawyer, George Bizos.

Bizos passed away in Johannesburg yesterday at the age of 92.

He was famously part of the legal team that defended Nelson Mandela, Govan Mbeki, Walter Sisulu and others at the Rivonia and the Treason Trials.

The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation has reacted to the news by saying a towering giant has fallen.

While the Nelson Mandela Foundation’s Luzuko Nelson says Bizoz severved the country with honour and intergrity.
