Gomba Applies for Separation of Trial

Former Eastern Cape Health MEC Sindiswa Gomba says the NPA needs to come up with substantial evidence that links her, into her allegations of fraud and corruption.

Gomba and her co-accused are facing charges of corruption, money laundering and contravention of the Municipal Finance Management Act.

The charges relates to plots of defrauding the Buffalo City Municipality and misusing R10 million that was allocated for the preparations of the funeral of late former President Nelson Mandela in the Eastern Cape in 2013.

The matter will be heard at the Eastern Cape High Court in Bhisho on the 12 April.
