Public Enterprises Minister, Pravin Gordhan, has admitted that former Eskom CEO, Andre De Ruyter, did indirectly mention to him the corrupt activities that were happening at Eskom.

This follows claims by the outgoing CEO, that millions were stolen from the power utility coffers on a monthly basis, including by a current minister.

De Ruyter was meant to leave his position at the end of next month, following his resignation in December, but after lifting the lid on alleged corruption at the power utility, he reached an agreement with the board to leave with immediate effect.

In an interview with the public broadcaster Gordhan says if De Ruyter is committed to rooting out corruption, he must come forward with the names of the officials involved.
