Government Also Misses Healthcare Workers’ Vaccination Target

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has admitted that government missed the target of vaccinating 1.5 million healthcare workers.

Mkhize has attributed the slow pace of the vaccination programme to the procurement of one million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

Now after this vaccine was procured, a small study showed that it was less effective against the second variant and wont be able to moderate COVID-19 cases in South Africa

Mkhize has assured that the vaccination delay will only take a couple of weeks.
