Government Applauds the Cancellation of Matric Pens Down

Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane says they are happy about the decision that has been taken by the organisers of the Ballito Matric Rage, to cancel the event.

Last year this event was classified as a Covid-19 super spreader following a high number of matriculants that got infected after attending.

The event which was expected to start yesterday and end on the 5th of December was aborted after 36 that were part of it tested positive for the virus.

MEC Simelane says her department advised the organisers to cancel it after deliberations.
