Acting Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, says phase 3 of the vaccination programme will begin in November and run until February in 2022.

Ntshavheni has been briefing the media on the outcomes of the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.

She has admitted that government will miss the target to vaccinate 67% of the population, which was set to be achieved end of 2021.

Ntshavheni says the Department of Health is on track to vaccinate all healthcare workers by the end of Phase 1, adding that Cabinet remains confident of the progress being made.

Ntshavheni adds that government is still considering stricter lockdown regulations for the upcoming Easter weekend.
