Government Launches 16 Days of Activism

Government has officially launched the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign under the theme, ‘Women’s Economic Justice for a Non-Violent and Non-Sexist South Africa’.

Ministers in the inter-ministerial committee on gender-based violence and femicide have briefed media on this year’s campaign in Pretoria.

Social Development minister, Lindiwe Zulu, says everybody needs to do everything possible to prevent violence against woman and children.

Meanwhile, Police minister, Bheki Cele, says gender-based violence is at a crisis level in the country.
