The Durban High Court has postponed the corruption trial of former eThekwini mayor, Zandile Gumede to 30 November for pre-trial proceedings to be finalised.
Gumede and 20 others, including suspended eThekwini city manager, Sipho Nzuza and senior ANC Councillor Mondli Mthembu are accused of corruption, money laundering and fraud.
The charges emanate from a R320-million waste contract that was issued by the municipality in 2017 while Gumede was mayor.
Her legal representative, Advocate Jay Naidoo says a possible trial date has been set for July 2022.
