Health Department Mitigating SA Medical Students Saga in Cuba

The Health Department has confirmed that investigations are under way following an incident where South African medical students were assaulted in Cuba.
In a shocking video that is making the rounds on social media, a group of young people can be seen being beaten up by people who are in what looks like police uniforms.
Deputy Minister of Health Sibongiseni Dlomo has confirmed that Cuban police allegedly manhandled some South African students while they were celebrating one of their owns birthday
He says for now the priority is to smooth things over with Cuba and not jeopardise the future of the next group that wishes to study in Cuba
The deputy minister says while it has been confirmed that some students were intoxicated, the Department of International Relations and Co-operation, is working closely with the authorities in Cuba to locate the source of the incident.
