The standing Committee on Public Accounts, has accused Eskom of undermining its work as Parliament’s finance watchdog.
The statement follows Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter and Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan’s action of snubbing once again a notice to appear before the committee.
The duo also failed to detail valid reasons as to why they couldn’t make it to discuss the extension of certain contracts at Eskom.
Scopa member Nokuzola Tolashe says De Ruyter and Gordhan need to stop playing hide and seek and explain why the power utility’s contracts are being extended 10 times.
