South Africa’s Under-17 national football coach Duncan Crowie says Amajimbos don’t need any extra motivation for their quarterfinal clash against Senegal in the Under-17 Africa Cup of nations on Wednesday night. Amajimbos know very well that a win will not only secure a passage into the Semi-finals but will also see them book their place in this years Under-17 FIFA World Cup in Peru.
Amajimbos scrapped through to the knockout stages of the tournament as one of the best third-placed teams, with one win and two defeats in group B. Burkina Faso’s 2-1 upset victory over Cameroon confirmed South Africa’s safety in the competition, progressing alongside Congo as the best third-placed teams.
Crowie acknowledges the difficulty of their upcoming match against Senegal, who have a 100 percent record in the tournament, but believes his boys will be highly motivated for the clash.
