The IFP has expressed its worry over the decision by the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal, to have Zandile Gumede return to the KZN Legislature despite corruption charges.

This follows a decision by the ANC Provincial Integrity Commission to have Gumede reinstated as a Member of Provincial Legislature, after she was asked to step aside in August.

This was influenced by a resolution taken in Nasrec, in 2017, to have any ANC member facing charges, step-aside.

IFP President Velenkosini Hlabisa elaborates,

Meanwhile KZN ANC Secretary, Mdumseni Ntuli has also weighed in on this matter during the party’s media briefing on PEC outcomes, in eThekwini.

However, Hlabisa says the provincial ANC is contradicting the NASREC resolution, nonetheless, they are satisfied that taxpayer’s money will no longer go to waste.
