The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in the province says it will protect hung municipalities under its leadership from a planned takeover.
This comes amid accusations that its speakers are stalling motions of no confidence tabled against the party’s mayors.
IFP chairperson in KwaZulu-Natal, Thami Ntuli, says they don’t have a problem when everything is done legally.
Ntuli says everything must be in compliance with the law.
He adds that there are two municipalities that received partitions and one of them was not in compliance with all the rules.
