I’m a Law Abiding Citizen – Bushiri

Government have confirmed that fugitives Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary did not leave South Africa aboard a flight on which Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera and his delegation travelled.

This follows the Bushiri family fleeing South Africa for Malawi, contravening their bail conditions, facing charges of fraud, theft and money laundering.

Bushiri held a virtual briefing making demands to the South African government of terms for his return including not being arrested for contravening his bail conditions.

South Africa has initiated a process to secure the couple’s extradition from Malawi in terms of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Protocol on Extradition and other legal instruments, to which Malawi is a signatory.
