The International Monetary Fund says global leaders must take bold action immediately to end the COVID-19 pandemic and create space for a more sustainable and inclusive economy.

G20 leaders are set to meet in Glasgow for the climate change conference.

IMF’s managing director, Kristalina Georgieva, says the G20 should lead in sharing Covid-19 vaccine doses, helping developing countries financially, and committing to reaching net-zero carbon emissions … by mid-century.

She adds that G20 leaders also have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to move the carbon needle.
