Health Minister Joe Phaahla says they are concerned that COVID 19 is still ravaging the world with the Omicron variant dominating.

Phaahla is addressing media on government’s efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and the national vaccination rollout programme.

More than 1 800 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country over the past 24 hours representing a 6.5% positivity rate, with 41 deaths as a result of complications related to the virus.

Hospital Admissions currently stands at 2602 which is an 8% decline.

Phaahla says 72% of hospital admissions are those of unvaccinated people.
