Parliament’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) is today holding a hearing with state arms company Denel, on the Special Investigating Unit’s (SIU) probe into corruption and fraud.
In March the SIU told SCOPA that its investigation into Denel focused on six crucial areas.
Four areas related to procurement processes for IT security assessment services, services to develop a White Paper, contracting for legal services, and contracting for steel fabrication services and goods.
Denel has projected an increased net loss of 1.56-billion-rand for the 2020/2021 financial year.
