IRR slams Cosatu’s comments on business

The Institute for Race Relations has slammed Cosatu for claiming that businesses were more concerned about getting the economy going than about the health implications of Covid-19.
Cosatu’s, Bheki Ntshalintshali, commented that the move to level three lockdown must not only be done in the interest of business.
The IRR’s, Sara Gon, says this type of comment causes division as it makes the assumption that business doesn’t understand the plight of employees.

Meanwhile the governor of the South African Reserve Bank, Lesetja Kganyago, says inflation is under control, mainly due to the plummeting oil price.
That is one of the reasons why the repo rate was set at three-point seven-five percent yesterday.
A portfolio manager at Kruger International, Hein Kruger, says it is good news for mortgage holders, but they now need to make sensible future decisions rather than relying on the windfall.
