Ismail and Nortje grab top honors at CSA awards

Fast bowlers Shabnim Ismail and Anrich Nortje walked away with top honors at Cricket South Africa awards held at Vodaworld in Midrand on Friday night. Ismail walked away with the SA Women’s Player of the Year award, and Nortje scooped the SA Men’s player of the Year award. The recently retired Ismail was a key part of the Momentum Proteas team that reached the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup on home soil. Nortje has been rewarded for his consistency in the Proteas men’s team, and was nominated in all the men’s categories.

This years CSA awards ceremony was the first in-person event to be held since 2019 due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
