The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed it is contemplating whether the inquest into the death of former ANC leader Albert Luthuli should be reopened.
He died in 1967 after being hit by a train in KwaZulu-Natal, close to the house the apartheid government confined him to.
Media reports indicate that Nobel Peace Prize winner’s family never accepted the official version.
Justice minister Ronald Lamola says the investigators are currently waiting to procure experts who can reconstruct the scene of Luthuli’s death.
