Jail Time for Online Offenders

The operation of certain sections of the Cyber crimes Act has officially come into effect.

The Act criminalises the disclosure of data messages which are harmful and provides for protection orders to protect victims against harm.

The Ministry of Justice and Correctional Services has welcomed the move.

Spokesperson Chrispin Phiri says the review of the laws was an important consideration in the evolving nature of cyber crime.
