He also shared his appreciation for Nick Cannon, who took over as host of his show “Beat Shazam” in the “Ray” actor’s absence.
“Appreciate ya my boy @NickCannon,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “See u all soon.”
The show shared in a statement that Cannon would be stepping in with the help of Kelly Osbourne.
The 55-year-old was reportedly taken ill on the Atlanta set of the Netflix comedy Back in Action. Foxx’s daughter Corinne announced her father’s hospitalization on 12 April: “We wanted to share that my father Jamie Foxx experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she posted in a statement on Instagram. “Luckily due to quick action and great care he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.” No further details have been provided.
The actor’s last major role was in the 2019 movie “Just Mercy,” in which he played a lawyer fighting for the rights of an innocent man on death row. Foxx’s performance earned critical acclaim, and the movie was a box office success.
“This season, not wanting fans of the game show to miss a minute of the fun, Nick Cannon has offered to fill in as guest host for his friends, Jamie and Corinne Foxx,” a statement on the show’s Instagram account read.
“Kelly Osbourne will be filling in as DJ.”
The post went on, “Everyone at FOX Entertainment wishes Jamie well as he continues his recovery, and we greatly appreciate Nick’s willingness to jump in and help this summer.”
Fans of Foxx were understandably concerned when news of his hospitalization broke. However, it’s reassuring to hear that he’s doing better and that his condition wasn’t more serious.
