Cell C Sharks Currie Cup head coach Joey Mongalo has called for his troops to stay rounded and humble amid their brilliant Currie Cup form in recent weeks. The Durban side have won 3 matches on the spin in the competition after getting the better of the Toyota Cheetahs, The Windhoek Draught Griquas and the Vodacom Bulls in recent weeks. Their fine form has seen them climb up to third on the Currie Cup standings after 9 rounds of action.
The next match will be a tough away trip to Nelspruit to take on the reigning champions the Airklink Pumas on Friday evening. A win will see the Sharks go to within 2 points of the Pumas who are currently second on the log with 34 points, with the Toyota Chetaahs sitting at the top of the table with 36 points.
Mongalo has down-played any talk of the Sharks going all the way in the competition with plenty of Rugby still to be played this season, and has called for his boys to stay grounded and humble as they enjoy their best form of the season.
