IEC chairperson Glen Mashinini has expressed satisfaction at the start of the voting process of the local government elections today.

Voting stations opened at 7am with some delays at some, where ballot papers arrived late.

Twenty-six-million voters across the country are expected to cast their vote.

Mashinini, who managed to cast his vote in Dainfern, Johannesburg earlier this morning, says the IEC will be dealing with all challenges as they happen.
