The eThekwini municipality says service delivery in several parts of the City is being severely hampered by a sharp increase in the number of hijacking incidents involving Municipal and contractor vehicles.
This was revealed by Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda during his State of the City address.
In the current financial year alone more than 95 vehicles have been hijacked from Municipal staff and contractors.
City’s spokesperson Lindiwe Khuzwayo urges communities to play a role in helping to fight this criminality.
