KZN ANC Members Up in Arms

Disgruntled KwaZulu-Natal ANC members are complaining that they have been prevented from accessing the party’s provincial offices and barred from talking to the party’s provincial leadership.
These members from ward 3 which includes Emaqadini, North of Durban, are blaming the party leadership of imposing to them a Councillor candidate that the community did not elect, and therefore have expressed dissatisfaction.
These members who are protesting have also accused the police of blocking them from proceeding to the party’s provincial offices in Durban central.

Meanwhile, ANC in the province says all its disgruntled party members who are not happy with the nomination process of candidates for the local government elections should complain through the right channels.
Scores of party members from ward 3 in eMaqadini, have today taken their protest to the door steps of ANC provincial offices, complaining that meetings to nominate candidates were hidden from them as leadership wanted their own candidates.
ANC Provincial Spokesperson Nhlakanipho Ntombela says if members are unhappy they can follow internal processes to complain.

Party adds that all its members in different wards across KZN should follow the right processes when electing and nominating party candidates.
ANC branches are currently in the process of electing and nominating candidates that will be representing the party as Councillors in the local government elections.
