Zikalala said the increase in the number of violent cases against foreign truck drivers has prompted the provincial government to urgently meet with truck operators and seek solutions on the matter.

This follows a series of truck attacks across the province.

He says truck operators must make sure that they prioritize hiring South African truck drivers over foreigners adding that foreign truck drivers without proper documentation should face the arm of law.

The Premier says that his government has taken an intensified campaign against the abuse of women and children, and against femicide.

He adds that the campaign against violence directed to women and children should not only be the 16 days in November and December, but should be throughout the year.
