KZN Government to Address Social Workers Backlog

Economic Development MEC in KwaZulu-Natal Ravi Pillay says they’ve allocated more than R120 million to the department of Social Development to address the backlog of social workers.

Pillay had been addressing the National Council of Provinces after Statistics SA released its figures for the third quarter.

There are more than 1 200 unemployed social workers in KZN.

Pillay says more than R72 million has been added towards the early childhood development.
