Economic development MEC, Nomusa Dube-Ncube, says she’s working hard to get rid of counterfeit goods in the province.
Dube Ncube had been speaking at a joint operation with police investigating complaints about excessive pricing and regulation violations prompted the raid in Durban.
A raid resulted in the arrests of 50 undocumented foreign nationals and the seizure of about R100,000 in cash and thousands of rands in counterfeit condoms, medication and creams.
Dube Ncube says those selling counterfeit goods are crippling the country’s economy.
The MEC says she’s confident that law enforcement will find the source of counterfeit goods in the province.
