KZN Has Its First Female Maxillofacial Surgeon Doctor

A Durban Born, Dr. Pranusha Ramlakhan has recently become KwaZulu-Natal’s first female maxillofacial surgeon.

Her achievement has drawn congratulatory remarks from KZN Health MEC, Nomagugu Simelane, who has described her as an inspiration and trailblazer who must be emulated.

A maxillofacial is a specialty surgeon that combines surgical training with dental expertise to correct a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries, tumors, defects, & deformities in the mouth, head, neck, face, and jaws.

Ramlakhan says she chose this path cognizant of its demands.
