KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC, Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu, has reiterated that funerals are super-spreader gatherings, and calls for COVID-19 regulations adherence.
Simelane-Zulu has been addressing the community at KwaMashu, north of Durban, as the department launched the COVID-19 loud-hailing exercise.
This programme is targeted at KZN COVID-19 hotspots, where the department tours around communities spreading awareness messages.
Simelane-Zulu says other gatherings linked to funerals, including night vigils; remain banned under the current lockdown regulations.
