KZN IFP Accuses COGTA MEC of Meddling

The IFP in the KZN Legislature says is concerned about the Cogta MEC Sipho Hlomuka’s political driven intervention to destabilise IFP led municipalities.

Today, Hlomuka convened an urgent meeting with Councillors of the Nquthu Local Municipality where he will address a number of issues affecting the council.

The meeting follows widely shared video footage on social media platforms, which show Councillors being harassed allegedly by private security personnel during a sitting.

IFP Caucus Chief Whip in the KZN Legislature, Blessed Gwala, says Hlomuka together with the ANC in the province are constantly involved in petty and manipulative tactics to advance their political agenda.

However, Hlomuka’s spokesperson Senzelwe Mzila says they are in the Nquthu municipality to address governance issues within the institution.
